The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Star for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a adored, popular member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that figure re-envisioned as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, unlike the original manga and animated series.
The new cast member is joined by a number of recently announced actors set to bring the organization to reality, including head Mr. 0, played by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Although the role is a major member of Baroque Works, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Given the second season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
