Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still that team's coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
My son advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.
However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
