American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved programs such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.

"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
